Transformational Plan
In fall 2007 all College stakeholders were invited to comment on the updated draft Plan. The feedback was incorporated into the draft and reviewed by Administrative Council. In early 2008 Administrative Council members proposed their top goals from the plan; they were revised in 2009. They are listed below in priority order along with the Core Component of the Plan in which the goal falls.
- A cohesive, coordinated and effective marketing and enrollment management plan will be developed to include every venue of the college.
- By 2012 Day student enrollment will increase to 1,250 with increased admission and retention standards.
- The quality of academic coursework, programs and student services within the Online Campus will be significantly enhanced.
- The sciences will be deepened and strengthened by building and furnishing a state of the art sciences building.
- AHE quality, quantity and innovation will be enhanced.
- Priority technology enhancements will include:
- Standardized classroom technology;
- Enhanced online content;
- Improved data collection and reporting;
- Document imaging.
- Priority facilities enhancements will include:
- Acquisition of necessary property as outlined in master plan;
- Purchase or construction of alternative housing to accommodate Day student enrollment increases;
- More efficient space utilization.
- Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be selectively added.
- New markets will be created and existing markets will be expanded.
- A greater affinity for the institution will be developed in current students and alumni.
- A Columbia College “brand” will be created that better reflects the institution’s position in the market.
- The Career Services center will be enhanced and expanded and will include data collection.
- Each major that assesses outcomes using the MFT will show average scores above the national mean.
- “Good fit” will be the focus on the Day program with regard to student housing, retention and recruitment.
- The endowment will grow.
