Seaman To Admiral-21 Program
The Seaman to Admiral-21 (STA-21) program is an enlisted-to-officer commissioning program allowing sailors to maintain their military pay and benefits while pursuing a college degree and a commission in the United States Navy. Columbia College is one of a limited number of 4-year institutions able to accept participants in the Seaman To Admiral-21 (STA-21) Program; Columbia College provides an excellent opportunity for you to work directly towards your degree while applying for the STA-21 Program.
The STA-21 Program keeps all participants on active duty, with all pay, allowances, benefits and privileges, while attending college. In addition, sailors receive up to $10,000 per year to cover college tuition, books and fees. The application deadline for the STA-21 program is 1 July each year, so continuing your progress towards your degree is critical while working through the application process.
Someday starts today at Columbia College.
Columbia College is one of a limited number of four-year institutions able to accept participants in the STA-21 program. Upon selection to the program, participants transfer directly to the Columbia College-affiliated Naval ROTC program at the University of Missouri and attend the main Columbia College campus in Columbia, Mo. to complete their undergraduate degrees. Their current degree plan remains valid, and no transfer of credits/classes are required if they remain with Columbia College. In effect, while they are completing their application for the commissioning program, they can begin fulfilling the degree requirements necessary for commission.
