ROTC at Columbia College

Students at Columbia College participate in ROTC through a cooperative program with the University of Missouri—Columbia (MU) by attending regular classes on the Columbia College campus while completing ROTC coursework on the MU campus, just 10 blocks away. This allows students to take advantage of the small class sizes and personal attention Columbia College offers. Our student to faculty ratio is 14-to-1. There are no teaching assistants to stand between you and your professor. In addition, recipients of Air Force, Army, or Naval ROTC Scholarships can receive an additional ROTC scholarship from Columbia College that covers 100 percent of housing fees. Up to 10 scholarships are awarded each year.

High school students, students already attending college and those currently serving in the military who are interested in becoming officers all are eligible to participate in ROTC.

High school students

Each military branch awards scholarships to students who decide to contract with them upon high school graduation. Students are commissioned as an officer and are required to serve a specific period of time. Students who wish to pursue this option should begin the process by contacting an ROTC recruitment officer or the Department of Defense for specific application requirements, preferably during their junior year of high school.

High school seniors or current college students

Current college students and students who did not go through the high school ROTC-selection process may still be a part of ROTC.
