Main campus commencement
Each year, the main campus hosts commencement ceremonies at the end of the Fall 16-week semester and the Spring 16-week semester. These ceremonies are held in the Southwell Complex Gymnasium on the historic Columbia College campus in Columbia, Missouri. The next ceremony days are:
- Dec 15, 2018 - Deadline to sign-up is Oct 19, 2018
- April 27, 2019 - Deadline to sign-up is March 1, 2019
There are two ceremonies in the Spring; the first ceremony is held at 11:30 a.m. and the second ceremony is held at 4 p.m. In Fall, there is only one ceremony, which takes place at noon. The ceremonies last approximately 100 minutes. Each ceremony is open to all master's, bachelor's and associate degree candidates who register and meet the eligibility requirements. See the commencement schedule for more details about the ceremonies.
The Spring commencement includes the optional participation in Ivy Chain, a long-standing Commencement Week tradition.
Students may alternatively participate at one of our many nationwide locations' ceremonies, or both a main campus ceremony and a nationwide ceremony.
Register for commencement
The deadline for the main campus commencement ceremony registration is approximately two months prior to the ceremony. Openings are limited for each ceremony, so early sign-up is recommended. The electronic order form is located in CougarTrack under forms and is titled "Application for Commencement Ceremony." Please visit the student instructions page for more details. If there are any questions about the commencement ceremonies, students may contact the Office of the Registrar at (800) 231-2391, ext. 7526 or (573) 875-7526 or their Columbia College location.
If you have signed up to participate in a main campus commencement ceremony, please be aware that each main campus ceremony is streamed live on the Internet. By signing up for a main campus ceremony, you have agreed to participate in a live streaming event.
