Alumni Association Awards & Scholarships
Alumni who have provided service to Columbia College, their community or have been outstanding in their professional field may be honored through the Columbia College Alumni Association recognition program. We encourage you to complete the nomination form so that outstanding alumni may be honored.

Many alumni support various scholarships, which enables students to further their education and assist the College. Learn what scholarships are available and how your support can make a difference.
Alumni Awards
The annual selection of recipients of Columbia College National Alumni Association alumni awards shall be based on the following purposes:
- To recognize the alumni of the College who have rendered distinguished service to the communities in which they live and to the general public as a result of exceptional achievement.
- To honor the College by giving suitable recognition to its outstanding alumni thereby reflecting credit on the educational program of the College.
- To inspire and encourage other alumni of the College to make outstanding contributions to society.
- To promote a stronger bond of fellowship among the alumni.
- To stimulate a continued interest in and loyalty to the College.
All alumni and friends of Columbia College are invited to submit nominations for the Columbia College Alumni Association awards. The nominating committee of the Alumni Association will consider all submissions. Self-nominations are encouraged.
Awards are to be presented annually as part of the Reunion celebration held each spring.
Distinguished Alumni Award
- Achieved regional or national recognition in his/her field.
- Rendered service to Columbia College or service to his/her local community.
Professional Acheivement Award
- Attained outstanding success in his/her chosen career field within the last 10 years
- Award may be bestowed on more than one candidate
Columbia College Service Award
- Promoted and served Columbia College
- Made significant contributions and has maintained a relationship with the College.
Community Service Award
- Demonstrated outstanding contribution in serving his/her community.

Alumni Scholarships
The Alumni Legacy Grant and Scholarship program encourages the family tradition of making Columbia College the choice for higher education. Applicants must be first-time freshmen or full-time transfer student enrolled in the day undergraduate program. Both the Legacy Grant and Scholarship are renewable.
Eligibility
Legacy Grants and Scholarships are open to:
- The children of alumni who received the associate or bachelor's degree from Columbia/Christian College.

Natural, adopted or step children or those for whom the alumnus or alumna is a legal guardian, who at the time of application live with the alumnus or alumna and have not reached the age of 25.

Children must be financially dependent on the alumnus/alumna (verfied by the most recent and subsequent federal tax returnees or other appropriate documents).
Legacy Grant
The Legacy Grant covers up to 15%* of tuition only, with consideration given to other financial aid received. Students must meet regular admission standards of the College. The grant is renewable for continuing full-time students in good standing who maintain general requirements.
Legacy Scholarship
The Legacy Scholarship covers up to 20%* of tuition only, with consideration given to other financial aid received. Students must have achieved a minimum ACT score of 26 and a minimum 3.5 grade point average (GPA) in high school. The scholarship is renewable with a minimum 3.5 GPA at Columbia college for continuing full-time students who maintain general eligibility requirements and qualifications. Transfer students must have a cumulative 3.3 GPA in all prior coursework.
* these awards apply to tuition only; if other full tuition scholarships are received, individuals will not be eligible for legacy Grants and Scholarships. In the case of a scholarship covering 90% tuition the grant of scholarship would be for 10%.
