Why Study Spanish Language and Cultures? 

Columbia College's Bachelor's in Spanish Language & Cultures program dives deep into the language and diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. This program emphasizes the importance of both written and oral language proficiency, broadening your understanding of the various Spanish-speaking cultures across the globe. 

What You'll Learn 

The BA in Spanish Language & Cultures is an excellent fit for students with a keen interest in exploring diverse cultures and connecting with others. Our program starts at the intermediate level (SPAN 201 or higher), guiding students progressively to advanced proficiency. This degree not only increases your marketability in various professional fields but also prepares you for potential teaching roles and further academic pursuits, such as a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT).

We encourage our students to immerse themselves further through study abroad experiences or internships in Spanish-speaking countries or communities, especially after their second year of language studies.

This degree emphasizes language studies and cultures of Spanish-speaking communities, providing you with the skills to communicate competently and confidently in both written and oral form. Some courses are:
