Before you can enroll at Columbia College, you will need to authenticate your identity.
You must do this by providing a copy of your valid and current government-issued photo identification. Identification can be a driver's license, passport, permanent resident card or other government-issued I.D. Expired identification will not be accepted for authentication.
Authenticate your identity in one of the following ways:
Option 1 - Self Image
You may authenticate your identity by sending us two photos. The first photo should clearly show your face as you hold a copy of your photo identification. In addition to providing a photo of yourself, make sure the information on your I.D. card is clearly visible and not covered by your hand or fingers. For the second, place your identification card on a flat surface and take a photo that displays all information, including the identification photo on the card. Email both to Admissions@CCIS.edu or your admissions counselor.
Option 2 - Authenticate in Person
If you are near a Columbia College location, you may show your government-issued photo I.D. to a full-time staff member at the venue. You may also confirm your identity by visiting a notary public who will complete the Notary Public I.D. Authentication Form. Completed forms should be submitted to Admissions@CCIS.edu for verification.
Some applicants may be exempt from authentication. However, proof of citizenship status (i.e. permanent resident card, naturalized citizen certification, etc.) is still required for admission review. Military service members (active duty, guard and reserve) applicants from all branches are exempt from identity authentication. Veterans, spouses and dependents of military members still need to complete identity authentication before enrolling at Columbia College.
If you have questions regarding the identity authentication requirement, please contact the Recruiting & Admissions Division at Admissions@CCIS.edu or (800) 213-7352.
