Here are some strategies to make each campus visit count: 

  • Take notes: Keep a record of each campus visit. Note down the essentials such as costs, scholarship opportunities, and degree programs that pique your interest. Remember to jot down your feelings and impressions about each campus. 
  • Weigh your options: For each college, make a list of pros and cons. Factors might include the safety of the campus, tuition rates, location, or availability of scholarships. 
  • Capture the experience: Photos can help you remember the atmosphere of each campus. Don't hesitate to snap pictures during your tour. 
  • Consider the geography: Is the campus and surrounding community easy to navigate? How close is the nearest airport? Reflect on the ease of travel for holidays and breaks.

Asking questions is a crucial part of your campus visit. It helps you understand more about the college and what it has to offer. Here are some thought-provoking questions to guide your conversation: 
  • Campus Safety: How secure is the campus? Are there dedicated campus safety officers, and what is the frequency of their patrols? 
  • Campus Policies: What are the rules regarding smoking and alcohol on campus? 
  • Class Size: What is the typical class size? 
  • Faculty Credentials: Who primarily teaches the classes – professors or graduate teaching assistants? Do professors hold the highest degrees in their respective fields? 
  • Career Opportunities: Does the college provide internship opportunities? What about lifelong career services? 
  • Student Support: What kind of academic and personal support services does the college offer? 
  • Student Life: What activities, clubs, or organizations are available for students to join? 
  • Diversity: How does the college promote diversity and inclusion on campus?
