In the case of an emergency, contact local law enforcement, as well, by calling 911.
Reports of criminal activity may also be made to other officials who are designated campus security authorities. These individuals will ensure that crimes are reported for collection as part of the college’s annual report of crime statistics.
Crimes may also be reported to the following designated campus security authorities:
- Human Resources:(573) 875-7495
- Student Conduct Officer:(573) 875-7877
- Dean for Student Affairs:(573) 875-7400
- Title IX Coordinator:(573) 875-7898
Policies on Reporting a Crime or Emergency
The college encourages accurate and prompt reporting of all criminal actions, accidents, injuries or other emergencies occurring on campus, on off-campus property owned by the college or on nearby public property to the appropriate administrator and police agency. Witnesses are encouraged to report incidents even when the victim of a crime elects not to make a report or cannot do so.
Such reports should be made as follows:
Situations that pose imminent danger or while a crime is in progress should be reported to local law enforcement by calling 911. Be prepared to provide the address where the emergency has occurred.
Students, staff and visitors should report criminal actions, accidents or other emergency incidents to the Office of Campus Safety or a designated campus security authority. The individual making the report will also be encouraged to report it to appropriate police agencies. If requested, a college staff member will be available to assist with that process.
Anonymous incident reports can also be made.
Victims of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence or Stalking
If you are a victim of a sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence or stalking, go to a safe place and call 911 or the Director of Campus Safety. At the earliest opportunity, contact the college’s Title IX Coordinator. You will then be provided further procedures in writing.
Security and Fire Safety Reports
Columbia College provides an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and crime statistics for the residential campus and all venues nationwide.
