B.A., M.Ed., M.A., Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Medieval Studies, Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies, University of Illinois
Dr. Johanna Denzin received her B.A. in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Also from University of Illinois, she has two master degrees (in Comparative Literature and in Education) and two Ph.Ds: one in Comparative Literature with a special certificate in Medieval Studies; and one in Education where she studied the history of children's literature. She specializes in Old Norse-Icelandic literature, medieval romance, and the history of the book. She is currently researching medieval romances retold in chapbooks and the role of chapbooks in the history of children's literature. At Columbia College, she teaches a wide variety of classes from medieval to Victorian.
