Kruti Surti earned her Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Missouri—St. Louis in 2021. She then worked as an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she taught courses in Neuroscience, Research Methods, Cognitive Psychology, and General Psychology before starting at Columbia College in 2024.
She prioritizes mentoring and supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds and is a part of organizations like Graduate Women in Science and the Society for the Teaching of Psychology.
Dr. Surti's research interests include regulating romantic love and self-love using cognitive strategies. Her research involves a variety of techniques, including ERP and fMRI methodology. She is also interested in studying inclusive pedagogy and the role of gamification in learning.
