Applying for financial aid is simple! With our streamlined process, you can easily explore your options and find the assistance you need to pursue your academic goals. 

Note: You may apply for the FAFSA as early as October 1 of the year before you plan to attend college. Students must apply for financial aid each year.

While creating an ID isn’t required, it is the fastest way to submit your FAFSA and the only way you can access or correct your information online. It also allows you to fill in the online FAFSA form with information from the previous year – making each year’s application process even faster.

At Columbia College, you can invest in your education with confidence. Many students are eligible for a range of federal financial aid options, including grants that don't have to be repaid. 

Federal financial aid includes need-based grants, low-interest loans and work-study opportunities. Apply online through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Columbia College's school code is 002456

You may apply for the FAFSA as early as October 1 of the year before you plan to attend college.

  • For those applying for the 2024-2025 academic year (August 2024-July 2025), the FAFSA is now open. If you have questions or need assistance contact the Center for Student Success at Success@ccis.edu or 573-875-7252.
  • For those applying for the 2025-2026 academic year (August 2025-July 2026), the FAFSA will be available December 2024. 

You must meet eligibility guidelines to receive federal financial aid. Some students may be asked to further verify information on their FAFSA form. 

Be sure to activate your myPortal account and monitor CougarMail on a regular basis. The Columbia College Financial Aid Office will use your Columbia College email address to update you about the status of your application. The office will also use it to inform you about upcoming deadlines and more.
